RECENT SUCCESS: In the short existence of the Washington Track & Field Academy, athletes have already seen success at the local, state, national, and world level.
Mikayla Gardley: 2024 4A State Champion: 200 (23.80), 300H (42.36), 4x400, and 4A state leader in 400 (54.99). Mikayla is currently a freshman at the University of Washington on a full athletic scholarship.
JaiCieonna Gero-Holt: 2024 4A State Champion: High Jump (State Record 6’2.5”), 100 Hurdles (3x), Shot Put (45’), and runner up in the long jump (18’11). Jai also won state titles in the long jump and javelin during her HS career, finished 6th in the Olympic Trials high jump, made 3 U20 teams, and graduated a year early to begin her college studies at University of Illinois on a full athletic scholarship.
Iren Derricks: 2024 4A State Champion in 100 (11.89, #2 all-time freshman) and 4x400, runner up to her teammate in the 200 (23.89, #9 all-time, #1 WA freshman all-time), and Nike Nationals top freshmen in the 100 and 200 (Emerging Elite winner). Currently a sophomore at Emerald Ridge.
Addison Ogden: 4A State Runner-Up in the discus (138’)
Carley Huber: 2025 GNAC Champion in the 400 hurdles (60.1), 3rd in the heptathlon. Currently on a full-ride scholarship at Central Washington University.
Meggie Kilcup: 2025 4A 4x400 State Champion, 3rd in 4x200. Current 400/800/heptathlete at Central Washington University.
Jeremy Gutierrez: 4A Runner-Up, 4A State Leader, School Record Holder, West Central District Champion (Pole Vault)
Cantrell Thomas: 4A State Medalist (100: 10.89, 200: 22.38, 400: 49.77 - 2 School Records), SPSL Champion (400 Meters)
Abigail Klein: 4A State Medalist (100 Hurdles, 300 Hurdles, High Jump, 4x400 Relay)
Alondra Lopez: West Central District Champion (300 Hurdles)
Xander Storts: SPSL Champion (Pole Vault)
Our roster is full of athletes of all ages and abilities. While some are hoping to make their junior high conference championships, others have aspirations of winning state and national titles. We work hard to create programming that will help each athlete improve, regardless of their starting point or goals.
